In a concerted effort to promote environmental sustainability, doctors from Apollo Cancer Centres and Apollo Proton Cancer Centre jointly organized a sapling plantation drive at the Elcot IT Park, Sholinganallur, on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in observance of World Environment Day. Over 500 saplings were planted, emphasising the commitment to a greener and healthier planet.

Speaking about the activity, Mr. Karan Puri, Chief Executive Officer, Apollo Cancer Centres (ACC) and Apollo Proton Cancer Centre (APCC), said: “At Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, while we strive for excellence in clinical outcomes, we also believe in taking responsibility for the world beyond the hospital walls. This initiative is a celebration of Hope, Healing, and Our Commitment to a Healthier Planet.”

Dr. Senthil Kumar Ganapathi, Senior Consultant – Surgical Gastroenterology, Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, Dr. Balamurugan Srinivasan, Consultant – Surgical Gastroenterology & Robotic Surgeon, Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, Dr Jayachandran P.K., Consultant, Medical Oncology, and Hemato-Oncology, Apollo Cancer Centre, Chennai, Dr. Hemalatha D, Lead Paediatric Haemato – Oncology consultant, Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, Tharamani, Chennai, Dr. Srinivasan Babu, Surgical Neurophysiologist, Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, and Dr. Krishna Kumar G, Consultant – Neurosurgeon, Apollo Proton Cancer Centre,  actively participated in the sapling planting drive, reinforcing the collective commitment to environmental stewardship.
